Learn more about my journey as a Budapest-based Technical Lead & Site Reliability Engineer working on secure, resilient Java banking systems.

Hi, I'm Mohammed A., a Technical Lead and Site Reliability Engineer based in Budapest, Hungary. Over the past several years at Kyndryl — working with Samlink in Espoo, Finland — I've moved across the full lifecycle of enterprise banking software: building it, testing it, keeping it running, and making it secure. My path started at Eötvös Loránd University, where I completed a Master's degree in Software and Services Architecture. Alongside my studies I spent nearly three years at IBM as an application developer, contributing to internal HR, car-fleet, and insight platforms in Angular, Node.js, and TypeScript — and writing my master's thesis on end-to-end test automation.

What I Do Today

I currently lead a SonarQube team focused on remediating vulnerabilities across Java banking applications, and I contributed to the proof of concept that evaluated SonarQube Enterprise Edition. In parallel, I work within the Application Managed Services team on monitoring, alerting, and incident response — including a Grafana solution I delivered to our client for tracking API response codes and latency.I was recognised twice in 2024 with the Samlink Success Stellar award for service delivery and client satisfaction.

How I Got Here

Before stepping into SRE and technical leadership, I worked as a Java application developer maintaining authentication services, as a QA automation engineer writing Selenium/Java tests and helping design a Robot Framework testing platform, and as a junior developer integrating RabbitMQ and IBM MQ into a payments application. That mix — development, quality, and operations — is what shapes how I work: I care as much about how a system behaves at 3 a.m. as I do about how it reads in a pull request.

Beyond the Screen

I'm Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals and Agile Explorer certified, and I keep learning across cloud, Kubernetes, and observability tooling. Outside of work you'll find me exploring Budapest and tinkering with side projects. Thanks for stopping by. Feel free to browse my projects or get in touch if you'd like to collaborate!
